What is Proof of FoldingUseful work
Useful work, not hashing. Traditional proof-of-work solves arbitrary puzzles. Proof-of-Folding spends the compute narrowing a real molecular search space.
Verifiable. Every batch produces an attestation, and selected work is independently re-run before it is accepted.
No minting — ever. Rewards are transfers from the locked protocol reserve, never new tokens. The fixed supply does not move.
Folding rewardsFrom the locked reserve
30% of every release goes to folders, 20% to stakers and 50% to the research vaults that pay for wet-lab work.
Pro-rata: your payout = your folding units ÷ all folding units in the epoch.
Halving every ~4 years (1,460 epochs) — the earlier you fold, the larger the per-unit reward.
Rewards are variable, protocol-defined and never guaranteed. A utility token for useful work — not income.
