A new type of alloplastic spermatocele: The bridge spermatocele
AbstractA new type of artificial spermatocele is proposed. A Gore-tex cylinder is sutured to the tails of the epididymides making a bridge between the two testes. The advantages of this spermatocele are (1) use of a single puncture; (2) easy execution of the puncture because the bridge stabilizes and holds the testicles in place; (3) a greater quantity of aspirate and, therefore, easier conservation of sperm; (4) a better quality of aspirate; and (5) relative ease of the surgical procedure.

AbstractAdvances in reproductive medicine require the periodic revision of therapeutic methods. The emergence of assisted reproductive techniques has resulted in a new turn in the therapeutic aims of andrology. Therefore, in contrast with previous attempts to achieve a higher sperm count and better sperm motility, individual spermatozoa and their de-novo utilization have gained significance. Accordingly, reassessment of the role of artificial and alloplastic spermatocele, offering an alternative solution for the management of obliterative azoospermia, is topical.
