DeCure's autonomous Metabolic AI scientist is researching a drug-repurposing hypothesis for multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2B — screening already-approved drugs against its 1-gene Open Targets disease module to publish open-access research. Research is fast; the path to publication is funded in milestone stages.
Disease moduleMultiple endocrine neoplasia type 2B maps to a 1-gene Open Targets module — the target space DeCure's AI scientist screens approved drugs against.
DeCure.ai methodSignature reversal (LINCS) plus network proximity (STRING) rank already-approved drugs likely to perturb this module — the same engine that produces DeCure.ai's repurposing hypotheses.
Repurposing thesisScreening approved medicines against this disease module, then publishing the evidence for the strongest candidate. Known pharmacology and human exposure data make the first question sharper — they do not establish safety or efficacy in a new indication.

Current lead
No approved-drug candidate for multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2b is corroborated in the literature DeepSearch retrieved. Some conditions are managed with non-pharmacological care — a device, surgery or physical therapy — rather than a medicine; that may be the case here, or the literature we found may simply be too sparse yet to support a drug-repurposing angle.
Molecular view
ret proto-oncogene (RET) — RET is one of the genes genetically linked to this disease in Open Targets — shown as context, not as a drug target we're pursuing: no approved-drug candidate for this disease is yet corroborated in the literature we found.

Surgical intervention in children with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2
AbstractPURPOSE OF REVIEW: We provide a summary of the literature published in the past year addressing the surgical approach to multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 in the pediatric population. RECENT FINDINGS: The review focuses first on medullary thyroid carcinoma and performing prophylactic thyroidectomy for the prevention or cure of this disease. The timing and extent of surgery as well as additional surgical intervention for persistent or recurrent disease is discussed. Then the surgical management of hereditary pheochromocytoma is reviewed. SUMMARY: Surgery is often the only treatment that can prevent or cure the endocrinopathies associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2. Determining the proper timing and extent of surgical intervention in children affected with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 will lead to better outcomes and survival.

Mutações no Ret Proto-oncogene em associação com neoplasias endócrinas múltiplas tipo 2 (MEN 2). Implicações clínicas.
AbstractMultiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2) is an autosomal dominant cancer syndrome. Clinical features and diagnostic aspects of this syndrome are reviewed with a focus on progress biochemical screening to genetic analysis of those at risk. The clinical implications resulting from the application of the new methods of molecular biology are discussed.
